Here’s a little bit more about me….
I grew up in the midwest in a musically oriented, church music family (my father played pedal steel guitar and drums and my mother was always supportive and encouraged me in my musical interests and personal growth).
I’ve made appearances throughout Minnesota, singing the National Anthem at venues like the Target Center – and Disney tunes, accompanying bands and orchestras throughout the region. In 2019, I relocated to Los Angeles to be closer to commercial vocal projects and further cultivate my talent and collaborative alliances within the media arts. I’ve been a featured vocalist on the stages of renowned LA club venues like The Dresden and Molly Malone’s Irish Pub among others (prior to the pandemic freeze on nightclub and arena entertainment). I have collaborated with several renowned LA-based music producers in recording a variety of multi-genre cover hits as well as my own original songs such as, “It Won’t Satisfy,” being released on multiple platforms in June 2021. I’m always collaborating with other vocalists and musicians for session recordings in a variety of musical genres.
I was prominently featured on the album, “Lullaby Trio,” where my original song, “Ladybug,” was integrated with my own renditions of other popular Disney tunes (for which I am most proud, as a lifelong Disney musical films fan).
My training as a vocalist & keyboardist has been extensive. I received a Bachelors in Music from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN where I studied voice with Rebecca Norberg and piano with Elaine Wipf. In addition, I received classical/opera training for 5 years from Doreen Hutchings (University of Northwestern). After college, I studied voice with Roxie Francis (I Heart My Voice) as well as Lisa Popeil in Los Angeles. As a session singer, I work with Gerald White (Music1on1) in sight singing training.
My parallel interests include vocal coaching and piano / keyboard education for young talent. I was previously a youth choir / chorus director and Yamaha Music Instructor. Since 2013, I’ve been operating Briana Lyn Studios, a multi-teacher music studio serving Los Angeles and Minneapolis. Click here to learn more about my music studios in both LA & Minneapolis.
I am available for recording collaborations, live venue stage performances, vocal and keyboard education sessions online. I have my own home recording studio where I record vocals for my own projects as well as for other artists’ & music producers. I record and mix professional level vocals using Logic Pro and Melodyne. I use a ID22 interface, midi keyboard and WA-47 tube microphone.
